Rains to drench parts of Bangladesh

Day temperature to increase further, reports BMD

Light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur in many places over the country, said a Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) bulletin on Tuesday.

"Light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at many places over Chittagong and Sylhet divisions; at a few places over Khulna, Barisal and Mymensingh divisions, and at one or two places over Dhaka, Rangpur, and Rajshahi divisions with moderately heavy falls," said the bulletin.

Day temperature may rise slightly and night temperature may remain nearly unchanged over the country, it added.

Bangladesh's maximum temperature on Monday was recorded 36.5°C at Sayedpur and the minimum temperature on Tuesday was recorded at 25.3°C at Rangamati.

The highest rainfall in the last 24 hours till 6am on Tuesday was recorded 14mm.

The sun will set at 6:49pm on Tuesday and will rise at 5:29am on Wednesday in the capital.
