Amin Mohammad Hilali, managing director of Ashaloy Housing, who is one of the accused in the North South University graft case, has reportedly gone missing from Uttara.
His brother Rafiqul Islam Hilali filed a general diary with Uttara West police station.
Shah Md Akteruzzaman Iliyas, officer-in-charge (OC) of Uttara West police station, confirmed the matter to Dhaka Tribune on Saturday. “The matter is being investigated.”
According to Rafiqul Islam, his brother left his house in Uttara Sector 11 for Sector 13 around 8pm on Friday.
“Since then, his number was found switched off and he did not return,” he added.
Amin Hilali was one of the accused in the North South University scam case filed by the Anti-Corruption Commission for allegedly helping some trustee board members embezzle around Tk304 crore.
Amin Hilali is the sixth accused in the case including the four members of the Board of Trustees of the university.
