Local Government and Rural Development (LGRD) Minister Md Tazul Islam has said around 1.5-2 million people are expected to attend the inauguration of the Padma Bridge on June 25.
He was speaking to reporters at Ilias Ahmed Chowdhury Ferry Ghat in Banglabazar of Shibchar upazila on Thursday afternoon.
The minister said 500 toilets were being installed for those who would attend the inauguration.
There would be enough drinking water for all attendees, he said.
“Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has faced many adversities at home and abroad while constructing the Padma Bridge. Today, the Padma Bridge is fully constructed against all odds, ready for inauguration on June 25.”
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will inaugurate the bridge on June 25 and it will be opened to traffic the next day.
