According to the forecast, the weather will be dry across the country with temporary partly cloudy skies

Update : 13 Feb 2022, 03:26 PM

The Bangladesh Meteorological Department on Saturday said a mild cold wave was blowing over the northern districts–Panchagarh and Kurigram– as the temperature had begun going down again after the rains a few days ago.

The night temperature may decrease slightly across the country and the cold wave may spread to more areas, according to the forecast.

In this regard, Meteorologist AKM Nazmul Haque said: “The sky became clearer after the rains due to western light pressure when then the temperature dropped. The cold snap is now raging in some parts of the north which may continue on Sunday.”

On Saturday, the temperature was below 10 degrees in two regions of the country, Tetulia and Rajarhat. Tetulia had 8.2 degrees, the lowest temperature recorded in the country.

However, temperatures in Rajshahi, Ishwardi, Syedpur and Chuadanga were within 10 degrees.

Among the divisional cities, Dhaka recorded 14.1 degrees, Mymensingh 11.8 degrees, Chittagong 16.8 degrees, Sylhet 13.4 degrees, Rajshahi 10.2 degrees, Rangpur 11 degrees, Khulna 13.2 degrees and Barisal 12.4 degrees celsius.

Meanwhile, the Meteorological Department said the extension of the sub-continental high pressure zone extended over West Bengal and adjoining areas. The normal light pressure of the season is located in the South Bay.

According to the forecast, the weather will be dry across the country with temporary partly cloudy skies. Light to moderate fog may occur from midnight to morning.
