In recognition of the role of newspapers, Bangladesh Press Council has awarded journalists and photojournalists for making investigative and creative reports and photos.
Information Minister Hasan Mahmud, who was present as chief guest, handed over the awards at the ceremony held at the Department of Films and Publications (DFP) premises in Dhaka on Saturday, reads a press release.

Photojournalist Sazzad Hossain of Bangla Tribune got the Press Council Award-2021 under the photography section .
Mazharul Islam Mitchel, senior staff correspondent of the now defuncted daily News Today, won the Press Council Award-2021 in the development report writing category.
He got the prize for promoting e-Commerce businesses via social media as many youngsters, including housewives, are gaining employment opportunities while working from their houses.
