Light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur in parts of the country, a Met Office release said on Monday.
“Light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at most places over Rangpur, Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions and at a few places over Rajshahi, Dhaka and Chittagong divisions and one or two places over Khulna and Barishal divisions with moderately heavy falls at places over the northern part of the country,” it said.
Day temperature may remain nearly unchanged and night temperature may rise slightly across the country, the release said.
The axis of monsoon trough runs through Rajasthan, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and West Bengal to Assam across the northern part of Bangladesh. One of its associated troughs extends up to North Bay.
Monsoon is fairly active over the northern part of Bangladesh and less active elsewhere over the country and weak to moderate over North Bay, the Bangladesh Meteorological Department release said.
The country's maximum temperature on Sunday was recorded at 35.4°C in Jessore and Monday’s minimum temperature so far was recorded at 25.0°C in Rangamati.
Maximum rainfall for the last 24 hours till 6:00am Monday was recorded at 51 millimetres (mm) in Sylhet.
The sun will set at 6:25pm Monday and rises at 5:37am Tuesday in Dhaka.
