Commander Khandaker Al Moin, director of RAB Legal and Media Wing, confirmed the matter during a press conference at the media centre of the elite force.

According to RAB, Jahid was addicted to cannabis and later started taking hallucinogenic drugs like LSD and DMT.

He also searched for magic mushrooms in the country but failed. Then , he asked his school friend Arnab, who lives in Canada, to bring some magic mushrooms to Bangladesh.

In May this year, Nagib smuggled the drugs into the country and started selling them at a high price.

Magic mushroom is consumed by mixing it with cakes and chocolate. It is also available as powder-capsules, said Al Moin. Prolonged use of this hallucinogenic drug can cause physical damage resulting in endless hallucinations with mental illness such as psychosis, he added.
