Bangladesh has administered Covid-19 vaccine to less than 100,000 people for the last three consecutive days.

This happened for the first time since the nationwide inoculation drive began on February 7.

According to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), some 95,675 people were vaccinated throughout the country on Sunday. Of them, 55,515 were men while 40,160 were women.

There have been over 100,000 vaccines administered since February 9 when 101,902 people received the jab.

Earlier in February, Covid-19 media cell spokesperson Prof Dr Nazmul Haque told Dhaka Tribune that they will consider vaccinating 200,000 citizens per day.

However, only 99,174 people received vaccines on Thursday while on Saturday the number of vaccine recipients was 86,132 people, which is lowest since February 9.

Data from DGHS is showing that the number of registrations also slowed down at least from March 9.

According to DGHS, some 91,938 people completed registration on Sunday till 5:30pm.
