Engineer AKM Wahed Uddin Chowdhury joined the post of Director General (Grade-1) of Bangladesh Water Development Board on Thursday.
Prior to joining the current post, he served as the additional director general (Planning), read a press release published by BWDB on Friday.
He obtained his BSc degree in Civil Engineering from Bangladesh University of Engineering (BUET) in 1984.
He joined the Bangladesh Water Development Board in 1986 as assistant engineer.
In his long career, he skilfully worked for the river bank conservation, irrigation, flood control and drainage projects, design, planning, monitoring hydrology in the field level offices of BWDB.
During his long service at the BWDB, he participated in various seminars and trainings at home and abroad including Japan, Thailand, Italy, Morocco and France.
