Qulkhani of Sheikh Razia Naser, wife of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman’s younger brother freedom fighter Sheikh Abu Naser and mother of lawmakers Sheikh Helal and Sheikh Jewel, will be held on Friday.
Marking the Qulkhani, the family of Razia has taken up various programs including “Khatme Quran” and distribution of foods among the orphans.
Besides, special doa and milad mahfils (prayer ceremony) will be held in Tungipara, Bagerhat and Khulna after Friday’s Jumma prayers, seeking eternal peace of the departed soul of Razia.
Her family requested all to pray for eternal peace of the departed soul of Razia Naser along with all martyrs of the 1975’s August 15 carnage.
Razia, also the aunt of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, breathed her last at the Evercare Hospital in the city’s Bashundhara R/A on Monday night at the age of 83.
She had been undergoing treatment for old age complications at the hospital since November 3.
Razia left behind her five sons, two daughters and a host of relatives and admirers to mourn her death.
She was laid to eternal rest at Dhaka’s Banani graveyard in the city where her husband along with all martyrs of the 1975’s August 15 carnage was laid to eternal rest.
Elder son of Razia, Sheikh Helal is a lawmaker from Bagerhat 1 constituency while another son Sheikh Jewel is a lawmaker from Khulna 2 constituency.
Her grandson and son of Sheikh Helal, Sheikh Sharhan Naser Tanmoy is also a lawmaker from Bagerhat 2 constituency.
