A 22-year-old Bangladeshi bride-to-be and her four family members have been killed in the massive fire that broke out in a 24-story Grenfell Tower in London early Wednesday.
Hosna Begum Tanima was at the 16th floor of the building along with her father Komru Miah, 82, mother Razia Begum, 65, brothers Abdul Hanif, 29 and Abdul Hamid, 26 during the inferno. They hailed from Koishaura village under Moulvibazar Sadar upazila.
The family’s relatives living in Moulvibazar told the Dhaka Tribune that Tanima’s marriage was set for July 29 this year and all preparations had been completed.
The wedding venue, invitation cards, attire, and everything else had been settled upon.

On that night, as the roaring flames continued to assail the building, Tanima called her cousin living in London asking for help during the fire.
She told her cousin: “Death is inevitable. Pray, just pray that it does not hurt much.” Her call was cut off after a few minutes by the fire.
Details about Tanima’s last known communications were reported by the Bangla Tribune who quoted Munzer Ahmed Chowdhury, an expatriate reporter in London.

The blaze engulfed the housing block in central London, trapping sleeping residents and killed at least 17 people in the inferno. The apartment block was home to about 600 people.
London fire brigade said the fire was unprecedented in its scale and speed.
