Jessore Sadar upazila Vice-Chairman Md Anwar Hossain Bipul has accused Jessore 6 MP Shaheen Chaklader of plotting to kill him.
The former Chhatra League leader made the claims during a media call at the Jessore Press Club on Sunday.
He, reading from a written statement, said: “I have information that Jessore 6 lawmaker Shaheen Chaklader has plotted a murder plan to kill me at his Kathaltola office.
“His supporters, following his orders, have been spreading misinformation, rumours, and negative propaganda against me.”
“I have already verbally notified local police regarding the matter. I will file a case with the court in this regard on Monday,” he added.

He claimed that followers of the Jessore 6 lawmaker, being jealous of the upazila vice-chairman’s popularity and public support, have continued spreading misleading information in various places including different social media platforms.
Despite repeated attempts, this correspondent could not get a hold of the lawmaker for comment regarding the allegations.
However, speaking to Dhaka Tribune, Mahmud Hossain Bipu, general secretary of the city unit of Jessore Awami League, also a known aide of MP Chaklader, said: “Does Bipul have any documents to support his claims?
“Bringing such baseless allegations against an MP is defamatory.
