Light to moderate rain likely

The country’s maximum temperature was recorded 36.2 degrees Celsius at Mongla in Khulna division on Monday

Maximum rainfall for the last 24 hours till 6am this morning was recorded at 55mm at Sylhet.

The Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) predicted light to moderate rain or thundershowers, accompanied by temporary gusty wind in different parts of the country, in the next 24 hours commencing at 9am on Tuesday.

“Light to moderate rain or thundershowers, accompanied by temporary gusty or squally wind is likely to occur at many places over Dhaka, Mymensingh, Barisal, Khulna, Rajshahi, Rangpur, Chittagong and Sylhet divisions with moderately heavy to heavy falls at places over the country,” said a met office bulletin on Tuesday. 

“Day temperature may fall by 2-3 degree Celsius and night temperature may fall slightly over the country,” it said.

The country’s maximum temperature was recorded 36.2 degrees Celsius at Mongla in Khulna division on Monday and minimum temperature was recorded at 24.6 degrees Celsius at Chuadanga in Khulna on Tuesday. The maximum rainfall for the last 24 hours till 6am on Tuesday was recorded at 55mm at Sylhet in Sylhet division.

The sun sets at 6:16pm on Tuesday and rises at 5:41am on Wednesday in the capital.
