A total 3,178 Indians have returned to their home country through the Benapole Immigration check-post in the past week.
Benapole Immigration police in-charge Ahsan Habib confirmed the matter and said 481 Bangladeshi citizens have returned over the same period.
The Indian government restricted entry to the country due to the coronavirus pandemic on March 27.
Later, on August 18, Indian authorities began allowing entry to those who had Covid-19 negative test certificates.
