A total of 7,220 passengers have travelled to three domestic routes on 223 flights from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport (HSIA) till Monday.
HSIA Director Group Captain AHM Touhid-ul Ahsan confirmed the matter to the Dhaka Tribune on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, Civil Aviation Authority, Bangladesh (CAAB) will commence operations on the Jessore route from Thursday on a limited scale.
The aviation authority had partially resumed domestic flight operations from June 1 on four domestic routes including Dhaka, Chittagong, Sylhet, and Saidpur.
A total of 3,410 passengers had departed by 111 flights from HSIA during this time to Chittagong, Sylhet, and Saidpur.
In addition, 112 flights carrying 3,810 passengers from three domestic routes landed at HSIA, the airport director said.
During this time, US-Bangla Airlines operated 160 flights on four domestic routes while it has canceled 11 flights, US-Bangla Airlines General Manager (Media) Kamrul Islam said.
On the other hand, Novoair, another private airline, operated 56 flights on four domestic routes while cancelling 12 flights, Novoair Head of Marketing and Sales AKM Mahfuzul Alam said.
Apart from this, the national flag carrier Biman Bangladesh Airlines had to cancel its flights due to passengers shortage.
