Rain accompanied by thunder showers with lightning flashes and temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at many places over Bangladesh.
Omar Faruk, meteorologist at the Bangladesh Meteorological Department, confirmed the matter to Dhaka Tribune on Tuesday.
Thunder showers are likely to continue for the next 72 hours, according to the weather forecast mentioned on the Meteorological Department website.
The places where the rain is likely to occur, include -- Dhaka, Mymensingh, Rajshahi, Khulna, Barisal, and Sylhet divisions and at a few places over Rangpur and Chittagong divisions.
Day temperature may fall slightly and night temperature may remain nearly unchanged over the country.
Wind direction and speed at Dhaka was at 08-12km/h with temporary gusting at 30-40km/h at 9am on Tuesday.
The weather forecast also showed a trough of low lies over West Bengal and adjoining areas. A seasonal low lies over South Bay.
