PM opens expanded runway at Cox’s Bazar Airport

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has inaugurated the expanded runway at the Cox’s Bazar International Airport for the movement of wide- bodied aircrafts. With this, she paved the way for the airport to start international flight operations. The premier reached the airport around 10:15am Saturday morning on Meghdoot, a 737-800 Boeing of Biman Bangladesh Airlines. Later she inaugurated the expanded runway. Sheikh Hasina opened Cox’s Bazar-Teknaf Marine Drive around 11:20am in Inani. Bangladesh Army under the supervision of Roads and Highways Department constructed the 80-km marine drive. She will also inaugurate some other development projects including Cox’s Bazar Medical College Hospital, Cox’s Bazar IT Park, the Naf Tourism Project, and two floating LNG terminals in Moheshkhali. The prime minister will address a public meeting at Sheikh Kamal International Cricket Stadium in the afternoon.
