Foreign Minister Dr A K Abdul Momen has directed all Bangladesh missions abroad to involve international community in Mujib Barsha celebration.
Involve government, civil society and Bangladeshi expatriate community in celebrating the Mujib Barsha (Mujib year) in befitting manner, he said.
The government declared the year of 2020 as the Mujib Barsha in a bid to celebrate the birth centenary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, reports BSS.
In a letter sent to all the missions on Tuesday, Momen marked the Mujib Barsha as a huge opportunity for Bangladesh to present the country’s recent tremendous success to the international arena, a press release of foreign ministry in Dhaka, said on Wednesday.
“Observing the Mujib Barsha is not only formalities, but also an opportunity to pay humble homage to the unique contribution of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman in shaping our identity,
establishing Bangladesh as a country and Bangalee as a nation,” he wrote.
Momen also directed the missions to play more active role in upholding Bangladesh image through exposing Bangladesh success in front of the government, business community, civil society and mass people of their respective countries.
