Biman Bangladesh Airlines will offer 17% discount to first 17 online ticket purchasers on 17 routes on the 17th day of each month from March 2020 to March 2021 marking the “Mujib Year,” the birth centenary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
This was informed at the 8th Parliamentary Standing Committee meeting of the Ministry of Civil Aviation and Tourism at the Parliament Building, press release said on Tuesday, reports BSS.
The committee Chairman RAM Obaidul Muktadir Chowdhury chaired the meeting.
Committee members State Minister for Civil Aviation and Tourism Md Mahbub Ali, Engineer Mosharraf Hossain, Md Aslamul Haque, Kazi Firoz Rashid, Asheq Ullah Rafiq and Syeda Rubina Akter attended the meeting.
The meeting was informed that Biman Bangladesh Airlines was not taking any charge for wheel-chair facilities for senior citizens, ill and physically challenged people and children.
It was also informed that air tickets of Hajj pilgrims were directly sold to Hajj agencies during 2019 Hajj period where one Hajj agency could buy minimum 100 and maximum 300 tickets.
