A light tremor, measuring 4.1 magnitude on the Richter scale, was felt in the north-west areas of Bangladesh.
The epicentre of the quake was in West Bengal, India and it struck at 3:25pm on Monday afternoon, a met office release said.
The epicentre of the earthquake was 339 kilometres west of Bangladesh, Meteorological Department (BMD) Seismic Center, Agargaon in Dhaka, the release said.
