As news media hinted of an upcoming Facebook ban that would take place every night for six hours starting midnight, it led to an explosion of speculation on social media.
The BTRC on Monday said blocking Facebook would not only be difficult, but would also not be conducive towards attaining the government’s end goals.
Following BTRC's statement, the netizens of Bangladesh took to social media to voice their opinions and recommendations once again. While a few have sided with the idea of the ban, most people were verbal in announcing their opposition against what they feel is an attack on their freedom to express themselves.
