The BNP has alleged that the government does not want to root out militancy but rather intends to use the issue for political gains.
BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir on Saturday expressed concerns over the recent militant attacks and claimed that the government was "not cordial" in uprooting militancy.
"The government's stance on militant attacks is baffling. It does not want a solution rather it is using militancy as a tool for political mileage," he said while inaugurating a photo exhibition on BNP-founder Ziaur Rahman at the party's Nayapaltan headquarters.
Fakhrul called for proper investigation into the militant attacks.
Militants launched two suicide attacks within a week near Dhaka's Hazrat Shahjalal Airport amid an ongoing countrywide crackdown on militants.
This month, security forces neutralised several militants at a Sitakunda hideout and seized a huge amount of explosives. On Friday, the law enforcers surrounded another militant hideout in Sylhet.
