President Abdul Hamid, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, and Cultural Affairs Minister Asaduzzaman Noor expressed their shock at the death of popular singer Ayub Bachchu.
In his message, the president prayed for the eternal peace of the departed soul and conveyed his sympathy to the members of the bereaved family.
Jatiya Sangsad (JS) Speaker Dr Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury has expressed her profoundshock and sorrow at the death of Ayub Bachchu. In a condolence message, the speaker recalled, with profound respect, Bachchu’s contribution to the music industry.
Also, JS Deputy Speaker Md Fazle Rabbi Miah and Chief Whip ASM Feroz expressed their profound shock at his death.
In separate messages, several ministers shared their deepest sympathies with the musician’s bereaved family members—and prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul.
Those who have shared their respects include: Minister for Road Transport and Bridges Obaidul Quader, Minister for Expatriates’ Welfare and Overseas Employment Nurul Islam BSc, Minister for Social Welfare Rashed Khan Menon, and Minister for Finance AMA Muhith.
His fans also flooded social media platforms, expressing their deepest condolences for the iconic figure of the country’ music industry.
Bachchu’s illustrious career saw him perform live with: Richard and Le Gang ; Remo Fernandez, Nandon Bugchi, and Bikram Gosh; Azam Khan ; Feelings (now Nogor Baul); Miles; Warfaze; and many others.
He started his music career, in his birthplace of Chittagong, with the band Feelings, in 1978. Then he joined the band Souls in 1980.
Leaving Souls in 1991, Bachchu formed LRB after 10 long years of practice and perfecting his work. Bachchu popularised LRB and their debut album was released in 1992.
LRB is the only Bangali rock band to have performed at the famous Madison Square Garden, in New York City.
