Families of 2 ex-footballers, hockey player get flats from PM

They have been given the flats for their outstanding contribution to Bangladesh’s football and hockey

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has handed over the keys of residential flats, located in Dhaka’s Mirpur, to the families of two former national footballers and a hockey player.

The footballers are Sheikh Ashraf Ali and late Monem Munna and the hockey player is late Zahidur Rahman Pushkin, reports UNB.

Sheikh Hasina gave the keys to the flats to Ali, Munna's wife Yasmin Monem and Pushkin's wife Fahmida Rahman at a function at Ganabhaban on Thursday.

The flats were provided to them at the personal initiative of the prime minister for their outstanding contributions to the country's football and hockey.

Bangladesh Football Federation President Kazi Salahuddin, former national footballer Abdus Salam Murshedy, MP, BFF Vice-President Kazi Nabil Ahmed, MP, Awami League's Youth and Sports Secretary Harunur Rashid and BFF General Secretary Abu Nayeem Sohag were present at the event, among others.
