A 15-year-old boy has been detained allegedly for the attempted rape of a five-year-old girl in Lama, Bandarban.
The accused, Md Badshah, was nabbed from Paschim Shilertoa area of Lama municipality on Thursday night after the girl's mother filed a case under the Women and Children Repression Prevention Act, police said on Friday.
His parents, however, binned the allegation as false and fabricated.
According to the complaint, the accused lured the girl into a tobacco field when she was playing hide and seek with her friends on Thursday afternoon.
He ripped off her clothes and attacked her, but fled the scene as soon as locals came forward hearing screams.
OC of Lama police Md Anowar has confirmed the arrest to the Dhaka Tribune.
