Interns at Bogra's Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College Hospital are continuing their strike for a second consecutive day, ignoring the suffering of hundreds of patients.
They went on an indefinite strike to press their demands, which include taking action against a patient's relatives for the latter's alleged misconduct, the UNB reports.
Sources at the hospital said Alauddin Sarkar, 60, from Sirajganj was admitted to the hospital on Saturday at midnight. There was an altercation between his son Rauf Sarkar and intern Najer Uddin around 11:30am on Sunday over switching on a fan in room 475.
Najer beat up Rauf at one point. Several other inters later dragged Rauf to a room and thrashed him.
They also locked the hospital's emergency unit and went on an indefinite strike claiming that the patient's relatives had misbehaved with them.
