Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC) Chairman Dr Shahjahan Mahmood on Tuesday said Bangladesh's first communications satellite, Bangabandhu-1, will take three more days to reach its specific orbit slot in space.
Addressing a program at Suhrawardy Udyan as the chief guest, Shahjahan Mahmood said the satellite will take another three days to take its place in orbit.
Marking the launching of the satellite, Dhaka’s Hatirjheel and Suhrawardy Udyan areas were decorated with lighting and fireworks were launched.
Bangladesh has entered the elite space club of 57 nations with the launch of its first geostationary communications satellite, the Bangabandhu-1, into orbit by US space transport company SpaceX earlier on Saturday.
The satellite finally made its journey towards orbit after its launching schedule was deferred 9 times.
