Combined Military Hospital authorities have announced that visiting Prof Muhammed Zafar Iqbal is not currently allowed.
Consultant Surgeon General Maj Gen Munshi Muhammad Mujibur Rahman said: "He has suffered six wounds - four to his neck, one to his back, and another to his left arm. The wounds are all flesh wounds, and are not severe."
He also said that the medical team had cleaned the wounds to prevent any infection and that Prof Zafar is now stable, and has consumed liquid food on Sunday morning.

On Saturday afternoon, Prof Zafar Iqbal was attacked by a young man during an event at the Shahjalal University of Science & Technology campus.
He was taken to Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College and then flown to Combined Military Hospital in Dhaka at the prime minister's behest.
The attacker was identified as Faizul, a local hawker who also claimed to be a madrasa student. He has been detained and is in police custody.
