Chief justice calls on President Abdul Hamid

Chief Justice Syed Mahmud Hossain has paid a courtesy call on President M Abdul Hamid at Bangabhaban in Dhaka. The chief justice congratulated M Abdul Hamid for being reelected as the president for the second consecutive term, President Hamid's Press Secretary Joynal Abedin told BSS. During the meeting, Syed Mahmud Hossain apprised the president of various activities of the Supreme Court, the Bangabhaban spokesman added. Abdul Hamid also thanked the chief justice hoping that Bangladesh's judiciary would be able to work independently under [chief justice] his leadership. Secretaries concerned to the President's office were present.
