Newly appointed Chief Justice Syed Mahmud Hossain has started his first day at work.
The Attorney General's office and the Supreme Court Bar Association accorded reception to the new Chief Justice on Sunday.
Earlier on Saturday, he was sworn in as Chief Justice at Bangabhaban.
President Abdul Hamid administered the oath taking ceremony.

Mahmud Hossain, a judge of the Appellate Division of the Supreme Court, was appointed Chief Justice barely three months after Surendra Kumar Sinha resigned from the post.
The post of the chief justice fell vacant when Chief Justice Surendra Kumar Sinha resigned on November 10, 2017 after he went on leave on health grounds in October.
Justice Abdul Wahhab Miah, the senior most judge of the Appellate Division of the Supreme Court, who had been carrying out the activities of Chief Justice, resigned from his post hours after the announcement of the new CJ on Friday.
