PM to police: Gain people’s confidence

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has directed the police to gain the trust and confidence of people as this is very important for them. She said the police personnel have to establish the image that they are the resort for trust and confidence of the mass people. The prime minister was speaking at a meeting with senior officials of the police at the International Conference Centre (ICC) of her office on Tuesday, marking the Police Week 2018. "Police have to gain people's confidence and trust so that they can think that police will help them, police are with them," she said. The prime minister said the present police force is the force of independent Bangladesh and it is their highest priority to gain people's trust and confidence. "You must do that," she said. Home Minister Asaduzzaman Kamal and Inspector General of Police (IGP) AKM Shahidul Hoque, among others, also spoke at the meeting.
