PM Hasina returns home from France

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina returned home on Thursday afternoon from Paris wrapping up her three-day official visit to France to attend the "One Planet Summit.” An Emirates flight carrying the premier and her entourage landed at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka at 5:10pm. On her way back home, the premier made a stopover in the UAE city Dubai for nearly three and a half hours. Earlier, the prime minister departed Charles De Gaulle International Airport in Paris for Dhaka at 9:35pm local time on Wednesday (2:35 am BdST Thursday). Bangladesh Ambassador to France Kazi Imtiaz Hossain had seen her off at the airport. The Bangladesh premier joined the "One Planet Summit" in Paris at the invitation of its co-organisers -- French President Emmanuel Macron, UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres and World Bank President Jim Yong Kim. Over 100 world leaders along with 2,000 participants from non-governmental organisations, foundations, and public and private sectors attended the summit at La Seine Musicale, a music and performing arts centre, located at Ile Senguin Island in the western suburbs of the French capital on Tuesday. The prime minister held a bilateral meeting with Macron at Elysee Palace on Tuesday morning. She also joined a lunch hosted by the French president for the heads of the state and government, co-organisers and VIPs of the summit at Elysee Palace. In the afternoon, the prime minister attended a community reception at Intercontinental Paris Le Grand. On Wednesday, Sheikh Hasina joined a breakfast meeting with top French business leaders at the Hotel Intercontinental Paris Le Grand. French oil company Total's Executive Vice President Philipe Sauquet and French aerospace company Thales's Senior Executive Vice President Martin Van Schaik had separately called on her on the same day.
