He said: “The aid consists of shelter kits, blankets and sleeping bags.”
Meanwhile, a cargo flight from Norwegian and Finnish Red Cross carrying aid for Rohingya refugees was received at the Chittagong airport at 1:20pm on Friday.
The 59.16 tons of aid includes mostly medical supplies to establish a Medical Field Hospital unit in Cox's bazar for the refugees.
The aid was received by ADC Habibur Rahman in the presence of Norwegian Red Cross Logistics Delegate Odd Pedersen, Bangladesh Red Crescent Chittagong unit Secretary Abdul Jabbar and Arif Rahman, also from Bangladesh Red Crescent.Also Read- UK sends 4,261 tents for Rohingya refugees
Earlier on Thursday, the UK sent 4,261 tents for Rohingya. Over a half million Rohingya people enter Bangladesh since late August. The Rohingya, mostly Muslim minorities are currently staying at different permanent and temporary refugee camps in Cox’s Bazar. Prior to the ongoing crackdown by Myanmarese forces, the number of Rohingya refugees in the coastal district totalled around 400,000.
