Demand to ban Sultan Suleiman ‘a conspiracy’

The port city unit of Deepto TV Viewers’ Forum made the observation yesterday afternoon at a rally held at Chittagong Press Club premises. The viewers urged Deepto TV authorities to continue airing the dubbed mega-serial. The rally was addressed, among others, by the viewers’ forum leaders Irfan Ali Fahim and Md Salauddin. Deepto TV already acquired the highest TRP among local channels. Speakers at the rally said local TV professionals’ below-standard productions attract viewers no more. They have resorted to conspiracy for survival. Meanwhile, activists of Deepto TV Viewers’ Forum in Barishal, at a protest programme said the country’s culture is at stake in the face of below-standard serials aired in different Indian channels including Star Jalsa and Zee Bangla, siphoning off the country’s money to abroad.
