Update : 13 Sep 2016, 07:59 PM
According to New York Daily News, a "traditionally dressed" Muslim woman was set on fire by an assailant Saturday night in Midtown Manhattan. The woman is reportedly “physically unharmed” as she could put out the fire that caught her shirt on her own. The NY Daily News added that the suspect allegedly set the woman's blouse ablaze while she was outside a Valentino store on Fifth Avenue shortly after 9pm. The suspect then walked away from the scene. The report further stated that the NYPD Hate Crimes Task Force was investigating the attack to figure out whether it was an “anti-Muslim” hate crime. A month ago, an Imam and his assistant were shot dead outside their mosque in Queens.
