Youths in a village in India’s Karnataka state have celebrated Bollywood actor Sunny Leone’s 41st birthday in a unique manner by organizing a blood donation campaign.
They said wanted to celebrate the birthday in this way to honour the various charitable endeavors like helping orphan children by the former adult film star.
A total of 39 units of blood were collected from the makeshift camp, according to reports in Indian media.
Members of Jeevadhare Trust at Kommerhali village in Mandya, Karnataka erected large cutouts of Sunny Leone and cut cakes to enjoy the happy occasion.
Trust president Nataraju said: “We are really happy that blood was donated by the youths in the village for the birthday celebration of sunny leone.”
The youths said they formed an association in her name to conduct charity events.
Mentioning Sunny Leone should be respected for her charitable works, they said: “We are inspired by Leone's charity. We formed the Sunny Leone's Fans' Association and will continue charity work in her name. This is the second time that we celebrated her birthday.”
Moved by her fans' celebration, Sunny Leone wrote in a social media post: “Omg this is unbelievable. In honour of you, I will also go donate my blood!! Thank you so much! You all really make me feel so special! Love you!”
