Rocking out to AC/DC classic “Highway To Hell”, more than 400 guitarists attempted to set a new world record on August 12 in Sydney as part of the ongoing Sydney Guitar Festival.
On the third day of the guitar festival - around 450 guitarists of different ages gathered at Chatswood, one of Sydney’s leading entertainment venues to set a new record for the most people playing the same song at the same time on electric guitars.
Although, majority of the guitarists were men, plenty of women and children were seen taking part in the massive electric guitar ensemble.
Australian band "The Choirboys” was on stage, leading the performance with their rendition of the song.
The guitars were plugged into mini amplifiers, powered by Marshall Battery.
The guitarists have to wait up to six weeks to obtain official Guinness verification to top the previous record which included 368 people, set in India back in 2013.
