Commercial ship MV Jain has arrived at Mongla port with 50,450 tons of coal for Bagerhat's Rampal thermal power plant.
The ship was anchored at jetty no-12 of the port's Harbaria point on Monday morning.
Khandkar Reazul Haque, assistant manager of the local shipping agent Togi Shipping and Logistics, confirmed the information.
"On August 8, the ship left Muara Pantai port in Indonesia with 50,450 tons of coal. 19,500 tons were unloaded at Chittagong Port and brought to Rampal thermal power plant by lighterage,” he said.
He added: "The ship is anchored at Mongla port's Harbaria point with the remaining 30,950 tons of coal. Unloading of goods started at noon. From there, the coal will be unloaded and delivered to the thermal power plant."
On July 31, a commercial ship named MV Bashundhara Impress arrived at Mongla port with 31,700 tons of coal for the Rampal thermal power plant.
