Mufti Syed Muhammad Faizul Karim, Senior Vice Ameer of the Islami Andolan Bangladesh, has warned voters that if they elect someone who engages in actions against Islam and morality, they will be held accountable by Allah.
He also said that the movement seeks a change in policies and ideals, not individuals.
He emphasized that as long as there is no change in policies and ideals, even if people take to the streets and shed blood, there will be no change in people's destiny.
He made these remarks while addressing a public rally as the chief guest on Saturday afternoon at the ground of Fulbari Model High School in Dinajpur district.
Faizul Karim also said that those who have faith cannot engage in politics outside of Islam. "Politics is deeply intertwined with Islam and faith. Voters may retain their faith through voting, but they can also lose it."
