GM Quader: Future politics must reflect youths' aspirations

Jatiya Party Chairman Ghulam Muhammad  (GM) Quader has said that the youth of Bangladesh have demonstrated their solid understanding of politics, and future political decisions must consider their thoughts and aspirations.

"There are approximately 40 million young voters who will significantly influence the country's political landscape," Quader said on Saturday while presiding over a joint meeting at the Jatiya Party Chairman’s office in Banani.

He said: "The Awami League government has tried to destroy all political parties to establish a one-party rule. They attempted to crush the BNP through attacks and lawsuits, prevented Jamaat-e-Islami from taking a stand in the political arena, and sought to divide the Jatiya Party into two factions to weaken it."

Reflecting on the party’s stance during the recent Anti-Discrimination Student Movement, Quader said: “The Jatiya Party's role in the student movement was clear. When the movement's coordinators were detained, we protested and demanded their release.

"Our student wing, Jatiya Chhatra Samaj, marched with banners in the capital. Our organization is strong in Rangpur, and under my instructions, our leaders and activists actively participated in the movement there,” he added.

He said: "Our Shaheed Minar is a symbol of sacrifice against discrimination. I even encouraged the students to take an oath at the Shaheed Minar."

The Jatiya Party leader highlighted the importance of youth in shaping the future of the country and stressed that their involvement in politics will have a profound impact in the coming years.
