Awami League (AL) Presidium Member Jahangir Kabir Nanak on Wednesday said BNP leaders are making their activists puzzled by calling for a movement to oust the government.
"BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir and its senior leaders are making the party workers confused calling for a movement to oust the government," he told a discussion organized by Dhaka North City Unit of Jubo League at Farmgate here, marking the Homecoming Day of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
Nanak said the present government was elected by people so it is not possible to topple the government.
After walking out of jail, Fakhrul said he would not return home until the fall of the government, Nanak said.
He said, adding that this government is the government of people, this government is a peace-loving and development-oriented government that is why it is quite impossible to oust the government.
AL Joint General Secretary AFM Bahauddin Nasim said BNP doesn't want country's development.
BNP founder Ziaur Rahman and his followers had killed Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and most of his family members on August 15 in 1975, he said.
Jubo League Chairman Sheikh Fazle Shams Parash said BNP leaders and workers are creating anarchy in the name of movement in the country so they must apologize to the countrymen.
Jubo League will give a befitting reply if BNP creates any anarchy in the name of movement, he said.
AL Organizing Secretary Mirza Azam, Jubo League General Secretary Mainul Hossain Khan Nikhil, Joint General Secretary Barrister Sheikh Naim, Publicity Secretary Joydev Nandi and Dhaka North City Jubo League Organizing Secretary Shahadat Hossain Salim, among others, spoke at the meeting with Acting President of Dhaka North City Jubo League Zakir Hossain Babul in the chair.
