Ruling Awami League has invited different political parties, including Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP), to its two-day national council scheduled to begin at the historic Suhrawardy Udyan in Dhaka on Friday.
Separate invitation cards were sent to four BNP leaders -- BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, Standing Committee members Khandoker Mosharraf Hossain, Moudud Ahmed, and Mirza Abbas -- on the occasion of the 21st national council, Awami League Central Sub-committee member Ziauddin Ahmed Sipu said on Thursday.
Ziauddin himself handed over the invitation cards to BNP Assistant Information and Research Secretary Riaz Uddin Nasu at the BNP chairperson's political office in the city's Gulshan area, reports BSS.
Besides, Jatiya Party, Communist Party of Bangladesh (CPB), Workers Party of Bangladesh, Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal, Bikalpa Dhara Bangladesh, Gono Forum, Jatiya Ganatantrik League, Jatiya Party (JP), Samyabadi Dal, and all pro-Liberation War political parties have been invited to the council.
Awami League President and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will inaugurate the council at 3pm on Friday.
