Jatiya Party (JaPa) has replaced their secretary general, ABM Ruhul Amin Howlader, with Presidium Member Md Mashiur Rahman Ranga, now the new JaPa secretary general.
Following his appointment, Ranga gave an interview over the phone at 11:45am Monday with Dhaka Tribune correspondent.
Ranga said his main objective as the new secretary general is to eradicate irregularities inside the party and organize the party candidates to ensure victory in the upcoming general election.
He also urged all party leaders who could not get party nominations and left the party, to come back for the sake of the party’s future.
Ranga also raised warnings of stern action to party members who are involved in any kind of grouping, lobbying, and nomination business.

In response to a question, the new JaPa secretary general also expressed strong hope that he will carry out the duties and responsibilities delegated to him by party chairman HM Ershad.
“No grouping is acceptable inside the party as we are all Ershad’s workers, ” he said to party members.
When asked about JaPa member involvement in alleged nomination business, Ranga said he does not believe that any such thing has happened. However, party chairman Ershad will take action if such allegations are found to be true.
Ranga, who is also running as a JaPa candidate from Rangpur 1 constituency, greeted all people of his electoral area. He said, “As a candidate of my hometown Rangpur, I am greeting all with heartfelt love and best wishes. It is their prayers and love that has made me secretary general of the party today. I hope everyone will support me in fulfilling chairman Ershad’s dream.”
