“Due to the prime minister’s humanitarian attitude, every country in the world now knows that there is a country in the world which stands beside Rohingya people.” Apart from the Awami League, people from all walks of life have come forward to help the Rohingya refugees. Besides the diplomatic process to solve the crisis, the ruling party leaders have established good terms with the leaders of several countries including China, India and Russia. The government was even able to convince India to change its stance on the issue, which also impressed the people of Bangladesh, the senior Awami League leaders pointed out.

Abdur Rahman, joint general secretary of Awami League, told the Dhaka Tribune that the role played by the premier and the ruling party in tackling the Rohingya crisis has proved the success of Sheikh Hasina as a state leader and of Awami League as a political party. “The international community and the country's people have praised the prime minister and Awami League for our stance on the Rohingya people. It will help Awami League in the next election,” he said. Awami League's Relief and Social Welfare Secretary, Sujit Roy Nandi, said: “Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and Awami League’s stance on the Rohingya people has impressed the world. The prime minister is now being praised as the ‘mother of humanity’.” Sujit Roy Nandi has frequently visited Rohingya camps and distributed relief on behalf of the party. He also noted: “People from all walks of life in Bangladesh have taken Awami League’s position on the Rohingya very positively. It has boosted up Awami League’s popularity. People will keep it in mind while casting votes in the next election.”
