In response, the Khagrachhari district administration has urged residents living on hilltops, slopes, foothills, and low-lying areas to remain alert and take precautions.
Khagrachhari Deputy Commissioner ABM Iftekharul Islam Khandaker issued the warning, citing meteorologist Shahinul Islam.
According to the forecast, beginning at 10am on Wednesday, some areas may experience 44 to 88 millimeters of rainfall every 24 hours over the 72 hours.
