Aman: Hold elections promptly after reform

BNP leader Amanullah Aman has said that the interim government must hold elections to establish an elected government who would fulfill the aspirations of the people.

The Sadaranga unit of BNP's biennial conference and council meeting began at 10:30am on Monday at Zia Hall Square, Shibbari.

Speaking to the media after inauguration, Aman Ullah said that: "We have discussed with the interim government and emphasised the need for urgent reforms and swift elections. The government is taking this issue seriously."

He further added, "There is no division within the party. The party is united. While party members may have aspirations for positions, there is no internal discord."

The event was chaired by Hafizur Rahman Monir, convenor of the Sadaranga unit of BNP, with Syed Sajjad Ahsan Parag, general secretary, moderating. Inaugurated by SM Shafiqul Alam Muna, city BNP convenor, special guests included Azizul Bari Helal, central information secretary, and Shaminur Rahman, research secretary.
