A group of unidentified miscreants has broken into a locker and stolen Tk9 lakh from the Bogra sub-branch of NRBC Bank.
The incident took place in the Palli Mangal Hat area of Shakharia union of Bogra Sadar on Friday night.
The miscreants entered the bank through the roof, disabled the CCTV cameras, and then broke the locker to take the money away.
NRBC Bank sub-branch Manager Rashedul Islam said he left Tk9,00,000 in the locker on Thursday. The owner of the building saw the bank room open on Saturday morning and called 999 to inform the police.
Bogra Sadar police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Saihan Oliullah said the branch lacked security as there were no guards or a vault.
Attempts are being made to identify the thieves by looking at the outside security footages. Multiple teams are working to arrest those involved, he added.
Police did not arrest anyone involved in the incident or recover the money till Saturday.
