Two crude bombs exploded at the house of Bogra unit BNP’s former women's affairs secretary of BNP Beauty Begum.
The incident took place in the Rangamati area on Friday night, but the police were informed about the incident on Saturday afternoon.
Shibganj police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Abdur Rauf said: “An unexploded cocktail was recovered from the scene. Legal action will be taken after investigation If they file a case.
Beauty Begum was expelled recently from BNP for disobeying party discipline. She also collected a nomination form for the Bogra-2 (Shibganj) constituency as an independent candidate.
However, there is a rumour that she is a candidate for the Bangladesh Nationalist Movement (BNM). She reportedly went to the central office of the organization on November 18.
Beauty Begum told reporters: “Miscreants exploded crude bombs at my house so that I don’t get to participate in the polls. But I am not afraid. I must participate in the election.”
She requested the district administration to find out those involved in the attack and bring them under the law.
