2.7C toll collected from Bangabandhu Bridge in 24hrs

The Bangabandhu Bridge authorities collected Tk2,71,95,400 in toll as 36,069 vehicles crossed the bridge in the past 24 hours ahead of the holy Eid-ul-Fitr, one of the greatest religious festivals for Muslims.

The vehicles crossed the bridge from Tuesday night to Wednesday night.

According to the Bangabandhu Bridge authority, a total of 20,820 North Bengal-bound vehicles crossed the bridge from which Tk1,40,10,100 was collected as toll. 

On the other hand, 15,249 Dhaka-bound vehicles crossed the bridge and Tk1,31,85,300 was collected from the vehicles, 

In the 24 hours from Monday night to the same time on Tuesday night, 30,251 vehicles crossed the Bangabandhu Bridge, paying the authorities over Tk2,44,21,550 in tolls.

In this regard, Bangabandhu Bridge Executive Engineer Ahsanul Kabir Pavel said that the number of vehicles on the highway has increased on Thursday. More than 6,000 crossed the Bangabandhu Bridge. Vehicles are crossing through 20 booths on both sides of Bangabandhu Bridge.

The authorities have been collecting tolls since the bridge was inaugurated in 1998. Currently, the Commuter System Network (CNS) collects tolls for the bridge.
