Chhatra League leaders and activists on Wednesday locked the main entrance to Chittagong University (CU) protesting the assault of two leaders of a faction of the organization.
The university shuttle train and teachers’ bus services were suspended due to the blockade.
Classes remained suspended as teachers and students could not enter the campus.

The attack took place at around 1pm on Tuesday after the local Chhatra League unit’s Varsity Express (VX) group leaders Pradeep Chakraborty Durjoy and Mohammad Rashed arrived at the campus on a motorcycle.
Seven to eight supporters of Jubo League leader Hanif waylaid the two, attacking them with local weapons.
Members of the VX group said they demanded the attackers be arrested as soon as possible.
They also said they would not lift the blockade until justice was ensured.
CU Proctor Dr Shahidul Islam said all important places of the university had remained blocked since the morning.
“We are making an effort, but the problem has not been solved yet,” he added.
